First Chamber Meeting of the decade was awesome!

January 20, 2011

We had a really fun and informative meeting Jan 18 at the Town Hall. There were 15 attendants and lots of great input.

Some visitors to the meeting have been attending for 25 years and some it was their first meeting ever. With a wonderful cross section like that you know that this new group is going to go somewhere.

The meeting was chaired by Alicia Mariano.

We had four speakers: History of the Chamber (Sandra Blodgett), First Impressions Program (Jenn Maxwell of Daydream Believers), Communities In Bloom (by Micheline Mann – delivered by Jenn Speckard) and Business Retention & Expansion Program (Jen Harris of Key Lime Creative).

Jenn Speckard also told us how the BR&E Program might be able to help the friends of the library with their 2011 initiatives and Sybille Walke acknowleged how the Communities in Bloom Program might be able to help the Paisley RatePayers Beautification Committee move forward.

The evening was concluded by handing out nomination forms inviting any person who has a registered business to take a seat on our executive. It promises to to be a decade of new and wonderful things.  Please feel free to jump on board.

Nomination Form can be downloaded from here> Nomination forms can be dropped off to Jen Harris, Sandra Blodgett or Alicia Mariano on or before January 28th, 2011.

The next meeting where we will hold the elections for the new Chamber of Commerce Executive will be held at 7:30 in the Council Chambers (Town Hall) on Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011  See you there!

Bottle Drive on Now

January 12, 2011

Good Morning Everyone!

Just a little note on the Bottle Drive…..We are starting at 10:00 this Saturday (Jan 8).  If anyone has any bottles that they would like to donate, please let either myself, Susie Kerr or Desire Hunt know and we will put you on the list.  I will have a sign up sheet at the arena tonight if you would like to put your name, address and phone number we will make sure that we make it to your place to pick up the bottles.

Also, if you are not going to be around on Saturday but have some bottles you would like to donate, you can take them directly to the bottle depot at Allen’s Hardware Store.  They are aware that we are doing this and they will take the donated bottles and add them to our collection.

Thank you to everyone!

Mary Ellen
