Songs interspersed with Green Voices briefly talking about ‘What it means to be Green’

Cost: Donations at the gate – to Bruce Grey Owen Sound Greens – receipts available.

Plan to be there, and share this with your friends. Everyone is invited! Bring a lawn chair or blanket, and come early with an instrument if you want to join in the songwriters workshop. This is a Rain or Shine event.

Dr Milne Park is located at 61 George St at the south end of Paisley. Turn east off County rd 3 at the south end of Paisley on Arnaud St. The park is located at the end of the street at the junction with George St adjacent to the river.

It’s Doors Open Season!

Established in 1967, the Ontario Heritage Trust is the province’s lead heritage agency, responsible for identifying, preserving, protecting and promoting built, cultural and natural heritage across the province.

Doors Open Ontario was established in 2002 and has attracted over three million visits to participating heritage sites in every corner of the province.  This year the program will showcase 55 community events two of which are only kilometers from the Paisley area.

Kincardine will host its Doors Open event on October 16 to 17 th, 2010 from 10 am to 4 pm while  Walkerton and District hosts their event September 25th, 2010 also 10 am to 4 pm.

This is a fun, free and informative event that allows access to some of Ontario’s finest architectural treasures.  Come visit Paisley’s own Nature’s Millworks housed in the old Valentine-Stark Mill built in 1885 and Mann Made Studios housed in a yellow brick schoolhouse built in 1896 where reknown Canadian painter, David B. Milne taught from 1900 to 1903.

Traditional Rug Hooking: Full or Half Day Workshop

Gather your friends, your sister and your mom for a social and educational day of easy-going fun with textile artist, Micheline Mann  www.mannmadestudios.com Spend a fun-filled day in a sun-bathed, one-room, schoolhouse in Paisley, Ontario learning to hook rugs.

The workshop begins at 9:30 am with fresh ground coffee, herbal teas and some bakery-fresh offerings.   Among the many topics covered will be:

  • Basic method of traditional rug hooking
  • Tools
  • Wool yardage, strips and backings
  • Patterns
  • Resources

Enjoy a glass of wine with the delectable luncheon served midday (included in the full day workshop.  $130.00 per person)We’ll finish off the day around 4 pm.

*The half day workshop begins at 1 pm and does not include food ($60.00 per person)

This workshop can accommodate eight people in total, men and women 16 years and older and can be booked weekdays as well as weekends.
