BRIDGE MEETING

March 28, 2013

The Queen Street Bridge at the heart of the village needs to be replaced. We have known this for years and Brian Knox, of Bruce County has heard us loud and clear that we want to be involved in the process. He is coming to town on March 28 at 7 pm in the Town Hall basement. I hope the place is packed.

BR&E Retreat Tonight!

May 3, 2012

BUSINESS RETENTION & EXPANSION

In 2011, 14 trained surveyors and 24 retail & tourism business owners and up to 225 hours of volunteer hours were donated (a value of over $2250.00) to collect opinions from business owners in the retail and tourism sector to give the Chamber of Commerce Team some direction concerning business retention & expansion . . .

On April 30, 2012 we recieved the completed results from that survey.

We will be examining these results in a fun and colourful way, beginning at the BR&E retreat on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 6:00 (come earlier if you can). We will have a finger foods potluck (bring whatever is convenient).  The meeting will begin at 6:15. This is a non-recruiting meeting. If you are up to having some fun tonight, please join us! Community hours students and all community members welcome. If you must be late, that’s OK. Still come.

RSVP 353-6021.

Winter Agenda

Chamber of Commerce Update.

April 13, 2011

The Business Retention and Expansion Program is in full swing. We have over 15 trained surveyors and another training session booked for Thursday April 21, for any more people in the community who would like to help out, even in a small way. We are hoping that this survey will provide us with information that will take Paisley to a new level in many areas. It is important that all business owners begin to really think about their opinions on hot issues. We will be giving every interviewee a copy of the survey about a week in advance of the interview so they can be prepared with their anwers and thus give an accurate thought. I think it is obvious that we need to consider how we are going to retain and expand business in our village.

The next Chamber meeting is on Tuesday April 19 at 7:30 in the Town Hall Council Chambers. We will not be totally focused on the BR&E at the next meeting as we are in a waiting period, waiting for the survey to be custom made for Paisley, so if there is anything else that we have been missing in the last month and a half, this is the window of opportunity. Please get on the agenda ASAP.

The 48 page brochure has been sent to the printer and it is stunning. Thanks to all the people who came together to create it and help pay for it. Especially to Jenn Harris who donated 250 hours of time to create it and to Paul Crysler who will help distribute it. This single document will improve the professional impression that Paisley leaves with 10,000 households across Ontario. It is a project superbly done.

Please remind all your customers and friends to subscribe to this website and if there is ANYTHING that needs to be improved as always please let me know. We were praised highly at the municipal council meeting on Monday for our website and village activity but let’s not stop there. We want the most informative and easiest-to-use site in the province. I count on your help to make it that way. Thanks to all who are constantly volunteering and helping to maintain and improve the village. Sandra
