Saugie Resurfaces

It’s been a while since we’ve had a sighting of Saugie, the Saugeen River Monster.

This picture and message are exactly as they were emailed to the Advocate on July 16th:

Me and my buddy were out paddling in the Saugeen last Saturday and we saw something that we don’t know what it was. It looked longer that our canoe. That’s 14 foot. We were in some calm water and it just kinda rose to the surface beside us. I put my paddle down but it banged and by the time I got my camera out it was going past us pretty good. I only got one picture of it and just the tail as it went by me. It’s not a log and it’s not a fish. I think it might of been that Soggy that you talk about in the Advocate. Please don’t print my name in the paper.

Signed, Randy

Don’t worry, your secret’s safe with us Randy, and thank you for sending the photo. We’re always glad to print news of our beloved Saugie. CB
